blazedark
« on: Feb 01, 14, 10:25:24 AM »
i was wondering if any of you lovely smart people may be able to help me.

i have installed Jeff's "blazedark" theme, i would like to have a different background as im doing this for our valentines theme, so i have replaced the blazebg.gif with the image i wish to use, but its only showing on half the page.

i looked in the index.css and found this part of the code
{
   background: #000 url(../images/theme/blazebg.gif) top left repeat-x;
   font: 78%/130% "Verdana", "Arial", "Helvetica", sans-serif;
   margin: 0 auto;
   padding: 25px 0;

dont laugh please *S* i know im blonde, but im sure that means its repeating, is that correct?

any tips would be wonderful

thanks in advance.

TRy leaving out the  "repeat-x" and see what happens, if not I may need you URL to the site!

we may have  to do it in percentage

Maxx

I'm sorry my bad,.... you need to put there no-repeat, to replace repeat-x..
remove repeat-x or replace with "repeat" only! I miss read your post!

If your background image is a photo, then replace "repeat-x" with "no-repeat" but if it is a gradient or a pattern, try replacing "repeat-x" with just "repeat".

sorry Maxx its super late here and im most likely not making sense, basically i want it so its centered in the forum, so it shows on either side of the board.

on my computer its showing on half the board all the way down the left side.

thankyou so much for your help

Really?  I knew it had 2 CSS files because it's a multicolor theme.  I didn't know it had 3 though.

Yes the index.css plus the to selectable shades!

I don't have any of them installed, so it's best they give us a URL to have a look see. I have too many themes of my own, I'm test them on about 3 or 4 different sites! plus live is best and easier for me to trouble shoot!

Maxx

guess what you two clever gentleman *grins*

i got it working, i am hoping to get my banners all done today so i can swap over to valentines theme till after that day of commerical greed ... opps did i say that.

thanks so much for both your help, i was able to figure it out from the help you both gave me, honestly many could learn from the way people are treated here, when one is looking for support to learn and they get spoken to like they are a pain in the neck/totally stupid/waste of time etc its very off putting, but that NEVER happens here.

i am so glad i found this forum, got to know Jeff a tiny wee bit, enough for him to be special to me and now you two. *S*

thanks again.

hugs

Yes Indeed thanks you! And here no one is stupid, everyone is good at something or somethings, but not at everything, and at the end of the day we are are equals. WE all grow are bones the same way. No one above or below us and I anyway do not bowl down to anyone. But I'm humble to the few whom helped me in the past! Everyone has the ability to be good to others and that's what Jeff wanted here as well!

Maxx
